Stewart started training at the Grammar School in Aylesbury in 2008 as a 7th Kyu, having previously trained elsewhere with his brother Martin, starting in September 2007. He attained Shodan in September 2013. He tries to train regularly at the dojo in Aylesbury, and also assists with teaching at the same dojo.
